French II Syllabus
2014-2015
Bonjour mes éléves! Bienvenue à la classe de Madame Russell. This year you will continue learning the basics of the French language and culture. By the end of the trimester you will be expected to be able to read, write, and speak short paragraphs in French.
Supplies You Will Need:
-Three-ring binder for French only
-Dividers
-A pen, pencil, and eraser
-Loose leaf lined paper
This year we will cover:
Review of greetings, weather, calendar, numbers, colors, and alphabet. Speaking about activities in the present, past, and near future, body parts, likes/dislikes, physical and emotional characteristics, reading short stories. You will continually practice to improve your listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Grading:
The grading for this class is based on a 1-4 scale. A passing grade is a 2.7 or higher. Your grade will be determined by your performance on standards based assignments and assessments. If you receive lower than a 2.5 on a standards based assignment you will need to reassess.
Teacher Expectations:
-Be in class and on time.
-Be prepared for class. Have all materials needed for class with you when you arrive to class.
-Pay attention during class.
-Be respectful; don’t speak while others are speaking.
-Participate and ask questions.
-Attempt to speak French during class
-If you need extra help, please see me so that we can arrange to meet during a study hall or after school.
-Refrain from putting others down or teasing
Most importantly, put forth your best effort and enjoy learning the beautiful language of French!
